“The Kilimanjaro Dream Project”:
In 2008, we run a campaign whereby all our children wrote their dream on a piece of paper. The dreams were then physically carried all the way to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro. On the back of this campaign, we are now busy making 12 dreams come true. These dreams will take place between September and December 2009 and will include: visits to Ushaka Marine World in Durban, attending an international cricket game, a guided tour of Bloemfontein, meeting a Generations actress, a visit to Robben Island, a ride in a captive hot air balloon. MySchool Card
MySchool is a South African programme aimed at improving the quality of learning and childrens’ lives through a network of partners and supporters.
Children of the Dawn is now a beneficiary of the MySchool programme, whereby a percentage of purchases made at shops such as Woolworths, Waltons, Supa-Quick, Tile/San/Paint Afrika, GardenShop, Kalahari.net, Club Travel, Hirsch’s, Juicy Lucy, Stax and Q-Photo is donated to registered schools or charities.
For example, by swiping your MySchool Card at Woolworths' tills, you will donate as much as 2% of your purchase amount to Children of the Dawn, at no extra-cost to you.
