Helping children improve their literacy, build confidence and discover the joy of reading

At Children of the Dawn, we believe that strong reading skills are an important foundation for a child’s education and future. That is why our centres provide regular reading sessions to support beneficiaries. During these sessions, children are given time to read, practise reading aloud and receive guidance from our dedicated centre teams. By providing consistent support and encouragement, Children of the Dawn helps beneficiaries improve their reading skills in a safe and supportive environment. For some children, struggling to read can make it difficult to understand their schoolwork and keep up with their classmates. Our reading sessions give them additional opportunities to practise and develop their skills. Through regular reading, beneficiaries can improve their vocabulary, pronunciation, fluency and understanding of what they read.

The support also helps children become more confident. As they practise and see their progress, they become more comfortable reading aloud, answering questions and expressing their ideas. This confidence can benefit them not only during reading sessions but also in the classroom and in their everyday lives. Children of the Dawn also uses reading sessions to encourage children to develop a love for books and learning. Through exposure to different stories and reading materials, beneficiaries can explore new ideas, use their imagination and develop curiosity about the world around them.

For Children of the Dawn, these sessions are about more than improving reading. They are about giving children the support, confidence and skills they need to reach their full potential. Through our literacy support, we continue to invest in the educational development of our beneficiaries, helping them become stronger readers, more confident learners and better prepared for their future. Together, we are helping children turn the pages towards brighter futures.
