Mackson from Mathabatha
Children of the Dawn’s proudest achievement for 2018 was seeing the number of students registered at tertiary level reach 66, with all the result already available six completed their undergraduate degree.
As an organisation which truly believes in supporting our children from primary school to tertiary, we’re convinced that our model works. Take the example of Xolani from Mangweni who joined our programme in 2007. He has been an A class student throughout his studies at the University of Zululand and he has just obtained his teaching degree- a fully qualified Accounting & Economics teacher! Mackson from Mathabatha graduated from TVET with a diploma in Human Resource Management. He was raised by a single mother, after his father passed away. Mxolisi from Mangweni completed his course in basic welding and was declared competent. He is a double orphan who joined COTD in 2006; we are very proud of his achievement and decision to focus on welding. Kevin from Bushbuckridge has just graduated with an Economic and Management Sciences Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Pretoria; he was on a Moshal Scholarship. After his exams in November, he was placed with a company called OMA Chartered Accounts in Pretoria, as part of our Module 1 Training Periods. Sandile from Ermelo passed his 1st year of Engineering Technology & Industrial Engineering at Durban University of Technology. We are also proud of our girl trailblazer Taetso from Bushbuckridge who has just obtained a National Diploma in Plant Production from the University of Mpumalanga! #proudbeyondwords
